hustle culture isn't all of it.

The video I randomly found on my Youtube feed titled 'I gave up my six-figure salary job in NYC for a simpler life' by Rooi made me realize 5 things:

1. As a student with a dream of working in a high-salary corporate world, it's best to invest in things that make me happy, like art, and not just in my career goals. I shouldn't constantly align my life or live up to society's expectations.

2. Self-care is underrated, in this world that glorifies hustle culture (tbh, I exhibit this culture, and as time goes on, I started to realize that it is not a sustainable mindset)

3. Hustle culture is good in the sense that it makes you hardworking, ambitious, and productive in achieving your goals; however, it takes a toll on your physical, mental, and emotional health.

4. Though everyone says that money brings happiness (which I agree with), true fulfillment and lasting happiness in life come from connecting with yourself and discovering your passions.

5. I want to live simply.

It's so inspiring and interesting seeing people having a unique viewpoint on life, and not only the idea of "romanticizing the dream life/hustle culture" that society promotes and is programmed to strive for. The widespread influence of hustle culture is often ingrained in our minds and promises that it will lead us to a successful and fulfilling life. However, as more people talk about it, similarly in this video, this idea hasn't always been true for everyone.
